Citi Prestige Card is one of the best premium products out there. It offers a 4th night free perk that can save you lots of money. But it is no longer available for new signups. Only those who have it can continue to take advantage of its benefits. Now it seems that Citi could be looking to release a new premium product.
New Premium Citi Credit Card
First, I should point out that the rumor is based on a survey that was recently sent out by Citi. The card is named Citi Explore, and from the name it’s clear that it’s aimed at travelers. It offers a few choices but in each version there’s some benefits that are constant. If they were really looking to release a new card, I would think these benefits would be in there:
- A $300 annual travel credit
- 3X points on travel and dining
- Points worth 50% more when redeeming for travel through the Citi ThankYou travel portal
- Free TSA PreCheck or Global Entry
- Priority Pass membership
The card would also come with an annual fee of $450.
The card seems to go after the Chase Sapphire Reserve card with the same annual fee, 3X on travel and dining and the 50% bonus. There’s also some other perks that we’re used to seeing in premium cards nowadays. One important piece of info that’s missing is the signup bonus, and that should make or break the deal. Again this is just a survey, so there’s no direct communications from Citi that this card is coming to market.
What do you think? Would you be interested to grab the Citi Explore card if it is released?
