I often post deals here about discounted Amazon Kindle E-Readers or Kindle Fire. These devices that have the lowest prices usually include in the description the term (with Special Offers). That means that you will get some annoying sponsored screensavers and special offers, including personalized advertising, from Amazon directly on your device. If you’re tired of these ads, then there’s a way to get rid of them, and it could even be free.
You can do this yourself by selecting to unsubscribe from Special Offers:
- In to your Amazon account, and go to Manage Your Content and Devices > Devices.
- Select the Kindle device from which you wish to remove Special Offers.
- Look for Special Offers / Offers and Ads ( Should say “Subscribed.” if you have these offers in your device)
- Click the Edit next to Subscribed, and follow the instructions to unsubscribe. Amazon will tell you how much you need to pay.
But this method will cost you the price difference of a device with and without Special Offers. To unsubscribe from Special Offers for free you should contact Amazon through their support chat. If you’re nice and polite, they will usually do the same process for free. Just ask them to please remove ads from device.
Another option is to install Google Play and Android OS on the device.
