Primera Air is a leisure airline owned by the Primera Travel Group, an Icelandic company that consists mainly of Nordic tour operators. Its primary goal is to provide scheduled air travel services, and flights for tour operators and charter flights. But, Primera has grown steadily in the last few years and they now offer flights from Europe to more than 70 destinations in the United States, Middle East, Asia, the Caribbean and more. The company was previously known as JetX.
They started flying to the United States in 2016 with a Reykjavik – New York (EWR) route. Then this year they also started flying out of Boston, Toronto and Washington DC.
Primera Air is now offering some cheap fares from NYC (EWR) to Paris (CDG) in November. You can fly for as little as $250 round trip. That’s direct flights, for both legs, which makes this a great deal, even if it is an ultra low cost airline. You can check dates on Skyscanner or directly at Primera Air.
Primera Air Fees
Each Primera Air passenger is entitled for 1 carry-on bag plus 1 small personal item. You need to pay $44.99 or pay for an upgrade if you want to check in luggage. Seat selection will cost at least $39.99 and meals start at $69.99 for transatlantic flights. Looks like there’s also a $12 booking fee unless you use a bank account.
Pretty good price for travel to Europe, but there’s plenty of fees if you want to check in luggage, select seats etc. Let me know if you find similar deals from other cities.
