Update 5/7/2018 – Offer is no longer available.
Chase Freedom Unlimited was first released in 2016. It usually has a bonus of $150 for spending $500 within three months, but there’s occasionally targeted offers for as much as $300 and has no annual fee. There’s also a $25 bonus for adding an additional user. Now there’s a new bonus that could be worth even more.
- Earn unlimited 3% cash back on every purchase during your first year. After that, earn unlimited 1.5% cash back on every purchase.
- Earn a $25 bonus after you add your first authorized user and make your first purchase within this same 3-month period.

This product is available to you if you do not have this card and have not received a new cardmember bonus for this card in the past 24 months.
Also this card falls under the Chase 5/24 rule, so you will not be approved if you’ve had 5 or more new credit cards in the last 24 months. That any 5 cards, not just Chase cards.
Earning 3% back on all purchases for a year is a great offer. But it is even better if you combine a Chase Freedom Unlimited card with a Ultimate Rewards earning card. You can transfer the points and use them as Ultimate Rewards with a Chase Sapphire Preferred, Reserve, Business Ink Preferred or the old Ink Plus. With a Chase Sapphire Reserve card for example you can get a 1.5 cents per point value when booking through Chase portal. That makes this Chase Freedom Unlimited offer a 4.5% everywhere for a year.
Many people won’t be able to apply since the card falls under the 524 rule.
