Amazon Tablet Sale: Fire 8HD for $30, Fire 7 for $20

Amazon has a new promotion for discounts on Fire tablets. You can get up to a $40 discount when you purchase with American Express Membership Rewards points. You just need to use at least one MR point to get the discount. Paying in full with points is NOT a good deal.

How to redeem your promotional discount:

  • Click the button corresponding to each device below to activate this promotion credit and apply points to your next order. Please note that you will not receive the credit unless you click on this button for each eligible device you wish to purchase.
  • Add one or more of the eligible products below sold and shipped by Amazon Digital Services LLC to your shopping cart.
  • Your Membership Rewards points will be reflected as your payment method at checkout. To redeem this offer, you must pay for at least a portion of your order with Membership Rewards points.
  • Savings will be reflected on the final order checkout page if the items in your order are eligible for the promotion credit. Limit one coupon code per order. See below for Terms and Conditions.

Guru’s Wrap-Up

Great prices if you’re looking for Fire tablets. Make sure you also go through JetBlue portal to earn 3x TrueBlue points BeFrugal for up to 7% back on Fire Tablet purchases. You can purchase up to five tablets. It says that offer is available by invitation only, so check for yourself to see if it works for you. It’s not as good as the last deal when Fire 8 Kids tablets had great discounts, but there’s still good discounts on Fire 8HD and Fire 7 tablets. They could also be profitable through resale. This is how I did with the last sale. Just don’t forget to add a gift receipt for each tablet so they aren’t registered to your account. This should make things easier if you’re reselling.

    • I don’t think they get access to your account but your name Will probably show up and buyer will probably complain that the tablet is not new.

      • Good to know for the next time. Sold a few a couple weeks ago, but haven’t heard any complaints yet. Knock on wood! Actually I just ordered 5 more tablets before you made me aware of this. I guess there’s no way of un-registering them after the fact? Anyway, thanks for the heads up.

          • Just a follow up on this. I was trying to de-register these online but none of them showed up in my list of manageable devices to do that. I called and was told by a CR that was because these tablets aren’t registered to any account at purchase but only when you or whoever has access to the actual device first, manually registers it. Does that sound right? If so, I guess we don’t need to worry about this issue as long as we don’t manually register it ourselves.

            • It actually warns you that the device won’t be registered in your account when you request a gift receipt (you can check this yourself, just go all the easy to checkout and select gift receipt). So cr might have been wrong. Maybe just chat again once you receive them.

            • A friend just told me that he forgot to select gift and they fire tablets still weren’t added to his account this time. You and CR might be right, maybe they no longer do that automatically?

  2. Used the promo link, used a linked Amex card and used 1MR, but the price of the Fire 8 HD remains at $59.99. Didn’t have any issues last time with this

      • When clicking on the link, I’m not seeing an area where I can activate any promotions.

It shows “Your recently viewed items and featured recommendations” and displays some Fire Products (mostly Fire Cases, not the Fire 8 HD). I then tried searching and found the tablet under special offers, went through checkout and discount didn’t come either.

        • Oh I see. You need to activate it. Might be targeted. A friend of mine was having the same issue, I thought he was doing something wrong.
