Plenti rewards program seems destined for extinction. Last year AT&T quit as a partner and at the beginning of this year Nationwide, Enterprise, Alamo, National, Direct Energy, Hulu and Local Dining were out as well. Now there’s even more bad news. Macy’s will no longer participate in the Plenti rewards program after 5/3/2018. They sent out emails to their members yesterday.
Here’s the text of the email:
We want you to know that Macy’s will no longer participate in the Plenti® rewards program after 5/3/2018. Here’s what that means. You can:
- Earn Plenti points on qualifying purchases at Macy’s until 3/15/2018.
- Earn Plenti points on qualifying purchases made outside of Macy’s with your
Macy’s American Express® card, that appear on statements with a statement closing date prior to 3/16/2018.
- Use Plenti points for savings on qualifying purchases at Macy’s until 5/3/2018.
- Continue to use any available Plenti points that haven’t expired for savings on
eligible purchases at other participating Plenti partners after 5/3/2018.
As a valued Macy’s American Express Cardholder, you are still a top priority. You’ll continue to get rewarded when you use your Card outside of Macy’s but in a whole new way. Stay tuned for the exciting details and thank you for your continued loyalty.
Macy’s was one of their biggest partner and looks like Plenti might not be around after this year. I would suggest cashing out your points soon, although i Don’t believe you need to run out the door right now. After Macy’s is out, you can redeem points at BI-LO, Chili’s, Exxon, Harveys, Mobil, Rite Aid and Winn-Dixie. Still a few options but we might see more of them exiting the program.
