Alaska Airlines announced yesterday that it’s partnership with Air France would come to an end on April 30, 2018. This is bad news for Mileage Plan aficionados as it really cuts good options for award flights to Europe. The ending partnership will also end redeeming and earning miles between the two airlines. The somewhat good news is that you still have a few months left.
Here’s the dates you need to keep in mind:
All Air France flights booked prior through December 5, 2017, regardless of the travel date, you will earn miles normally based on the chart above. If traveling after April, 30, 2018, you’ll need to submit a Mileage Credit request to receive the miles for your trip.
All flights booked on December 6, 2017 or later, will earn full miles as well, only if you fly before April 30th, 2018. If you book December 6, 2017 or later and fly after April 30th, 2018, then you will not earn any miles.
While Air France was one of the best options due to you can still book award flights to Europe on British Airways, Icelandair, Condor, and Finnair.
