Alitalia has some low fares available for direct flights from New York City (JFK) to Rome (FCO). You can find prices as low as $460 for a round trip flights. There’s availability from December until September of next year, including some dates in August for about $475. This could make for a nice summer trip to Italy.
These are good prices for direct round trip flights to Italy. Luggage is also included, unlike low-cost carrier deals, which makes this more suitable for longer stays, while still paying the same price. If you don’t mind low-cost carriers for a 7hr+ flight, then Norwegian also has some very low prices. I saw a few dates available starting from $350 round-trip. It’s worth mentioning that Alitalia has some major financial troubles.
Don’t forget to use a card that gives you the best rewards on airfare if you’re booking direct, such as Amex Platinum (5x on airfare), Chase Sapphire Reserve (3x on travel) or Citi Prestige (3x on airfare).
