Citi has increased the signup bonus on the CitiBusiness AAdvantage Platinum Select World Mastercard. The new bonus matches the highest public bonus. The offer contains the 24 month language.
Offer & Requirements
Earn 60,000 American Airlines AAdvantage® bonus miles after spending $3,000 within the first 3 months of account opening. Annual Fee: $95, fee waived for the first 12 months.
Citi’s 24 Month Rule
Citi changed its rules last year and toughened up on churners, making it harder to receive bonuses. You can only receive a bonus if you haven’t opened or closed a card of the same currency in the last 24 months. The application for the CitiBusiness AA card usually has the following language:
This card is not available if the business already has a CitiBusiness® / AAdvantage® Platinum Select®World MasterCard® card. Bonus miles not available if you have had any CitiBusiness® / AAdvantage® card opened or closed in the past 24 months.
Citi Business Cards
You can apply for one Citi Business card every 95 days. These are counted separately from personal cards. But, if you’re applying for a business card using your SSN, then the system will automatically deny you if you have had two new cards (for the same SSN) in the last 65 days.
Citi also limits inquiries to 6 every 6 months.
Citi Business cards don’t show up on your personal credit report, so this card won’t count towards Chase’s 5/24 rule.
This offer matches the highest we have seen for the CitiBusiness AAdvantage credit card, although we have seen targeted offer for 65K in the past. The offer does have the 24 month restriction, so that will probably disqualify mane readers. The same offer is also available for the personal version of the card. One plus the business version though is that it doesn’t show up on your personal credit reports.
