If you don’t have an Airbnb account, you can sign up and receive a $40 credit when you complete a qualifying reservation. The usual used to be $25, then $35 and now it has been at $40 for a while. A Qualifying Reservation must have a total value (excluding guest fees or taxes) of at least $75 (or its local currency equivalent if supported). It must be booked and paid for via the Airbnb platform.
AirBnB is a great alternative to hotel chains. They offer unique accommodations from local hosts in 191+ countries, so you’ most likely be able to find a place anywhere. Prices will be usually 25-30% cheaper than hotels (if you’re paying cash) and you’ll get to stay in a home, instead of a hotel. It might not offer all the luxuries of an hotel, but for lots of people it creates a better vacation experience, instead of just another hotel. If you get a place with a kitchen you can also save tons of money by eating in and having real meals. I actually have an Airbnb stay coming up in two weeks in Rome.
Once you have your own account, you can then refer your friends and family and receive $40 for every referee that completes a qualifying reservation and $75 for every referee that hosts. Users may earn a maximum of $5,000 USD Travel Credit per account. Read the full Airbnb Referral Program Terms & Conditions.
