Office Depot and Officemax have a new Visa gift card deal starting this Sunday. You can save $10 instantly when you buy $300 or more in Visa gift cards. This offer is not as good as previous offer, since the instant discount has been lowered, but it still lowers the activation fees significantly.
Previous offers also had a limit of 2 which allowed you to get 2 discounts on the same transaction when purchasing $600 in cards. Now the limit is only 1.
- Limit 1 offer per customer.
- Discount applied at register.
- Offer valid 6/4/17 – 6/10/17
The most common card to purchase at Office Depot and OfficeMax are $200 Visa Gift cards that comes with a $6.95 fee. To qualify for the instant discount, you need to purchase two of these. That would cost you $413.90, but after $10 instant discount, your final cost will be $403.90. That gives you a $3.90 loss.
These deals are best when combined with a Chase Ink Cash/Bold/Plus credit card since they earn you 5X Ultimate Rewards at office supply stores. That gives you 2,020 UR points when purchasing two gift cards. You can also use a Amex SimplyCash Plus card which earns 5% cashback, or $20.20. Keep in mind that you’re paying $3.90 tu purchase the Visa gift cards.
Right now there’s also an Amex Offer for Office Depot and OfficeMax that would work great with this gift card deal if you were targeted. You can get a $10 statement credit with a $50+ in one or more transactions in-store by 7/31/2017. If you can split transactions, it gets even better.
This is not as good as previous deals as you only get a $10 discount and the limit is now 1 instead of 2. That gives you a small loss on the purchase, but you can still get very cheap UR points or cashback. It gets even better if you are targeted for the Amex Offer.
