Acorns App Removes eBay From List Of Partners

Acorns is an investing app that rounds up your daily purchases and automatically invests the ‘change’ into a diversified portfolio of ETFs. You can read more about the app here.

One great feature of the app was its rewards program called “Found Money,” which gives you bonus investment cash when you shop at partners, similar to cashback portals. One of their partners was eBay and they offered the best cashback rate around, at 2%. They were even paying out on gift card purchases on eBay. Although this was invested money, instead of straight cashback, it was still close to twice as much compared to other apps or websites.

Today when I logged in I didn’t see eBay in their list of partners. Hopefully this is not a permanent move from them. I’m sure that they have noticed the increased eBay purchases through the app and even if they bring it back, it might be at a lower rate, more in line with other sites.

The next best options for now are TopCashBack with an increased rate of 1.5% or Ibotta app that only pays 1% but has been tracking gift card purchases.
