Alaska Airlines Visa Signature Credit Card offers a 30K sign-up bonus, a $100 statement credit, plus an annual companion fare after you make $1,000 or more in purchases within the first 90 days of your account opening. That Companion fare will cost just $99 plus taxes, regardless of how much your fare costs. And there’s no blackout dates. The business version of the card also has the same benefit.
The good news is that starting today, you’ll be able to use that Annual Companion Fare on Virgin America flights as well.
Alaska’s Annual Companion Fare Benefit
Visa Signature cardholders who make any combination of Purchases totaling at least $1,000 that post to the account within 90 days of the account open date will qualify for a round-trip coach Companion Fare on Alaska Airlines or Virgin America from $121 (USD) ($99 base fare plus taxes and fees, from $22 depending on your Alaska Airlines or Virgin America flight itinerary) when traveling with another passenger on a paid published coach airfare on the same itinerary, booked at the same time on alaskaair.com.
The Companion Fare code must be redeemed at alaskaair.com within 12 months of the date of issue. The Companion Fare code is not valid with award travel, and cannot be combined with any other airfare discounts.
The Companion Fare Benefit add lots of value to the Alaska Airlines Visa Signature Credit Card and could make the $75 Annual Fee worth it. This should be good news for many who might have some of these certificates. It should open up more booking possibilities and it also adds the opportunity to earn miles on both carriers.
