It’s now official, Sports Authority is closing for good. The retailer’s liquidator’s announced that they will start a going-out-of-business sale today at all 450 Sports Authority stores nationwide. Brands like Under Armour, Nike, North Face, Wilson, Adidas, Spalding, ASICS, Head, Coleman, Everlast, and Brooks will all be sold at up to 30 percent off their regular price. I expected a bigger discount, but you might be able to find some good deals. They are offering free shipping on orders $39 or more online.
There are also store fixtures, furniture and equipment that will be up for sale, executives announced.
If you have any Sports Authority gift cards that still have a balance, you will need to use them by June 27. The stores are expected to shut down by the end of August.
The closures follow a failed attempt by Sports Authority to reorganize under Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection.

If you’re shopping online make sure to go through a shopping portal. Active Junky which I’ve never used myself, is offering 8% cash back. Upromise is offering 5% and BeFrugal is offering 4.3%.
