Just saw reports on Twitter regarding emails being send out regarding termination of Serve and Bluebird accounts. Thought it was a joke but then I received one myself. This is real bad.
I’ve received the notice on
two out of three three of three Bluebirds that I manage. Received it on one Serve, but not the other that was recently opened, yet.
Just saw other reports that recently opened Serve/Bluebirds haven’t received a termination email. Not sure if it means anything and if it’s of any use to have the card at all. It looks like the shutdown are widespread on all cards that have manufactured spend activities, mainly involving gift card loading.

Termination Of Funds Loading Capabilities on Your Bluebird Account

Dear XXX XXX,
We are writing to let you know that we have observed unusual usage patterns on your Bluebird Account. Because of this, effective immediately, you will no longer be able to add money to your Account.1 We have made this change in accordance with Section 22.d of our Member Agreement, which you can view here.
Please be aware that you continue to have full access to the funds on your Account and can withdraw them at any time.
Once your balance reaches $0, please close your Account online via your Profile page accessible here. Scroll down to the Close Accountsection and click “Close Account.”

Section 22.d – Suspension of Use; Cancellation; Closure
We, in our sole discretion, may limit your use of, suspend or terminate your privileges with respect to, your Account, Family Account(s), SetAside Account, Walmart Buck$ balance and/or Card or any feature or benefit thereof, with or without cause or notice, other than any notice required by Applicable Law, including in the event we believe there has been a breach in security or there has been unauthorized activity involving your Account or you have engaged in activity that is fraudulent or inappropriate or that violates the terms of this Member Agreement. We reserve the right to suspend or close your Account (or Family Account(s), SetAside Account or Walmart Buck$ balance) if, among other reasons, (i) you neither Add Funds to nor use your Account, Family Account, SetAside Account and/or Card for extended periods, (ii) there are no funds remaining in your Account or Family Account or SetAside Account for extended periods, (iii) you attempt to Add Funds to your card from an Add Funds Source and are declined or dishonored repeatedly, (iv)you structure purchases or conduct transactions with your Account, Family Account, SetAside Account and/or Card to manufacture spend, (v) you withdraw your consent to deal with us electronically pursuant to the Consent Statement or (vi) for any other reason permitted by Applicable Law. We may, in our sole discretion, decide not to immediately exercise our rights pursuant to this paragraph, but such forbearance (whether once or repeatedly) shall not constitute a waiver nor shall it preclude our right to exercise our rights in the future.
If we decide to close or suspend use of your Account, Family Account, SetAside Account or Walmart Buck$ balance (which closure will result in termination of your privileges with respect to the associated Card(s)), we will send an e-mail to the primary e-mail address we have in our records for you. Upon closure of your Account, Family Account, SetAside Account and/or Walmart Buck$ balance (and termination of privileges with respect to the associated Card(s)), you must immediately discontinue use of your Account, Family Account, SetAside Account, Walmart Buck$ balance and associated Card(s), as applicable. Our closure of your Account, Family Account, SetAside Account and/or Walmart Buck$ balance (and termination of your privileges with respect to the associated Card(s)) will not affect your obligations under this Agreement. We will not collect any fees with respect to your Account or Family Account while your Account or Family Account is suspended.
