Flint is a phone app that allows you to manage many core aspects of your business from anywhere – all you need is your mobile device. The most important feature for us though, is the card payment processing. You just scan the credit card with your phone, verify card info, and you’re done. No card reader is needed, and no images are stored on the phone. All transactions are encrypted for maximum security.
The interesting thing with Flint is that you can do $3750 in spending, FEE FREE (for the 1st month) and it will be deposited directly into your bank account. But you have to do it within the first month of signing up. It is very easy if everything goes smoothly, but that’s not always the case. I tried Flint last month and after signing up I was sent an email that requested permission for a credit check. Needless to say, I didn’t pursue it, as $3750 in free spending is nothing to take a credit hit for.
Miles Remaining report that Flint also sends out 1099-K tax forms for the payments processed (and their Terms and Conditions state so as well). Also, if you process more than $1,000 during any trailing seven day period, they may defer depositing the amount in excess of $1,000 for 30 days.
I didn’t have the best experience with them, but it doesn’t hurt to try it. A credit check seems to the the exception, not the norm, so give it a try and see what happens.
